On Saturday, December 2nd 2017, the Football Federation of Belize held its 11th Extraordinary Congress at the Ramada Princess Hotel and Casino in Belize City where Sergio Chuc was elected as the new President of the FFB and Cruz Gamez was elected to the post of Vice President.
Chuc garnered 14 votes out of a possible 20 and Gamez 14 out of 20. This completes the full team for the Federation which prepares the FFB for a new beginning for football in Belize.

The saga of the Chuc presidency started 19 months ago at the 9th Ordinary Congress of the FFB held on April 30th, 2016 when after 22 rounds of voting, the FIFA representative decided to call a halt to the election process and proposed that Mr. Marlon Kuylen step in as Ag. President until the next elections were held.
A second round of elections was called on June 24th/25th ,2017 which had to be aborted because there was no quorum. This was followed by an Extra-Ordinary Congress on Saturday September 2nd, 2017 during which many of the items on the original agenda were dealt with, and a decision to have a new date set for new elections.
