Belizean Assistant Referee Assigned to Officiate CONCACAF U-17 Semifinal Match

Assistant Referee, Ricardo Daniel Ake, was assigned to officiate a match Friday, May 05, 2017 between USA and CUBA in the semifinals of the CONCACAF U17 Tournament being hosted in Panama.

To be assigned to a CONCACAF tournament, the match official must pass the physical fitness test and excel in technical and theory.

At the tournament, he was assessed in each game assigned in the preliminary round. Only the top match officials remain for the subsequent round of the competition; the rest are sent home. Ake was one of the few top match officials to remain to the end of the tournament.

Ricardo Daniel Ake is from Corozal Town and has been an assistant referee for almost 20 years.

We are proud of Mr. Ake’s accomplishments and take this opportunity to congratulate him on a job well done.
